
Zobayer Abdullah
Zobayer Abdullah is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Bangla at the University of Dhaka. His work brings together media and communication, language and cultural studies, and digital scholarship in Bangladesh and South Asia.
His research examines how emerging technologies, information environments, and public knowledge shape social life, with particular attention to generative AI, institutional trust, and the cultural politics of language.
His current work focuses on two primary domains:
(1) Media, technology, and public knowledge. He studies generative AI and media, digital information environments, communication apprehension, civic engagement, and institutional trust among young people in Bangladesh.
(2) Language, culture, and scholarly publishing. He researches Bengali language and literature, cultural discourse, the social value of language education, and the digital infrastructures that broaden access to academic knowledge.
